This week is Organic Beauty Week here in the UK, so we wanted to celebrate all things organic with you \u2026 and give away a very special prize in our competition to win a coveted place on our International Organic Skincare Entrepreneur Program (to find how to enter the competition, see more below!).<\/p>\n<p>So for Organic Beauty Week, let\u2019s look at the 3 reasons you should buy organic beauty products:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>1. Organic beauty\u00a0ingredients are produced <strong>without the use of as many\u00a0artificial\u00a0fertilisers, pesticides, or other synthetic\u00a0chemicals as conventional beauty ingredients<\/strong>. By using organic skincare, we want to make sure that the ingredients we use in our cosmetics have not been treated with the same number of synthetic pesticides or fertilisers.<\/p>\n<p>This doesn&#8217;t mean that organic cosmetic ingredients haven&#8217;t been treated with pesticides at all, it just means that they\u00a0generally use &#8220;natural&#8221; pesticides (although some synthetic pesticides are still permitted).<\/p>\n<p>Certain chemicals used as pesticides have been found to persist in the food chain and have been found to accumulate in human body tissue. Health concerns have been raised about pesticide exposure and about the \u2018chemical cocktail\u2019 often applied to non-organic food all over the world. These chemicals could penetrate into your skin, get further into your body \u2013 possibly even into your bloodstream \u2013 and cause short-term or chronic health issues.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2. Organic farming doesn\u2019t just benefit the end users of its produce, it\u2019s also <strong>better for the environment<\/strong>. By being less dependent on oil-based fertilisers and pesticides, organic farming methods offer a practical model for addressing climate-friendly production of food and beauty ingredients. This method of farming also stores higher levels of carbon in the soil.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3. Organic farming recognises the direct connection between our health and the way that our food and our beauty products are produced.
